What is it like to be a kid voicing a famous cartoon character? In this episode of Voice Over, Kids Talk, we talk to 11-year-old American voice actor Asher, the voice of Boots from Dora the Explorer. Asher started acting and doing voice-over work at a very young age and tells us what it’s like to work on professional productions from his own home studio. How did he land the role of Boots? How does he keep the character sounding the same as his own voice gets older? And how do you perform the exact same line with completely different emotions? Asher talks about his experiences working on Dora the Explorer, auditions, voice techniques, working with directors, and life as a young voice actor in the United States. Of course, Asher also demonstrates how he creates the voice of Boots and shares his tips and advice for kids who dream of getting into voice acting themselves.
