About

The specialist in children's voices

VoiceOverKids.agency was founded in 2014 by Dutch voice-over veteran Zeno Groenewegen, a professional voice actor, narrator and voice director working since 1988. His own daughters grew up around studios and microphones — voicing came naturally. The idea was simple: bring young talents together on one dedicated, international, kids-only voice-over agency.

Our VoiceOverKids are young professional child voice actors, trained by vocal and acting coaches — experienced in film, television, theatre, musicals, dubbing, commercials and narration. All are handpicked through international castings. That investment in quality is your assurance of professional kids' voice-overs that stand out.

Q&A

Aren't child voices played by adult voice actors?

There was a time when children's voice-overs would be played by adults. That still happens, but there is major demand in animation and voice acting for authentic voices for child characters when possible. At VoiceOverKids.Agency we specialise in casting and recording professional international kids' and child voices in many languages. Sometimes our child actors go back and forth between voice and on-camera acting; others specialise in voice acting and maintain lifelong careers.

Is voice acting for kids easier than on-screen acting?

We don't think so. Voice acting can be more challenging because you can't 'hide' — there's no physical comedy or facial expression to rely on; all acting must be expressed through the voice. Voice actors often work alone in small booths, relying solely on their imaginations, and are frequently cast in multiple roles in the same project.

Do you need an amazing voice to be a child voice actor?

Voice work requires versatility, and versatility comes from acting skills, talent, confidence and commitment. First and foremost, voice actors must communicate emotions and real-feeling experiences to their audience — almost entirely with their voices. Listen to our international kids' voice samples and you'll hear what we mean.

What's your turnaround time for recording a child voice over?

Please see our Studio page (Turnaround & rates). As these are real children, recordings are scheduled after school or at weekends and we ask you to allow around 5 days to arrange a session.

Can we direct the child voice-over recordings ourselves?

Yes — we offer live remote direction via Source Connect, Session Link Pro, Cleanfeed, Skype or Zoom, always subject to agreement with our local director and the child's parents. See the Studio page for details.

How are kids' voice-over rates calculated?

Fees combine a basic session rate plus a buyout/usage fee, calculated by media type and territory. National broadcast, online pre-rolls and social usage are priced differently to website-only use. See the Studio page.

What happens when kids' voices change?

Kids' voices change all the time, which is why we keep our online demos as up to date as possible. Change and growth are a good thing — a child actor may lose some jobs but gain others. For long-running productions that need consistency, our AI child voices are an alternative, as they stay forever young.

I want to be a child voice-over — where do I start?

Voice acting is no different to other forms of acting: lasting careers require a willingness to keep growing and learning. Start with solid training — your local acting school — and ask for referrals to coaches who specialise in children's voice work and demo-reel services. You can also apply to join us via our application page.

How many and which languages do you offer for kids' voices?

We currently offer child voice-over actors in 25+ languages, with new voices and languages being added every month. Browse them all in our voice database.
